British conductor Alexander Soddy ranks among the most sought-after conductors of his generation and is regularly engaged by the world’s leading orchestras and opera houses.
In the 2026/27 season, Soddy returns to the Vienna State Opera for a new production of The Queen of Spades , as well as revivals of Tristan und Isolde and Così fan tutte . He makes his house debut at the Zurich Opera House with a new production of La traviata. He returns to the Berlin State Opera for Samson et Dalila and Tosca , and to the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino for a new production of Tristan und Isolde and a concert with the Orchestra del Maggio Musicale.
In the concert arena, Soddy makes his concert debut at La Scala this season, opening the house's 2027 concert season with the Filarmonica della Scala. He makes his debut at the Lyric Opera of Chicago with a concert featuring music by Wagner and the Lyric Opera Orchestra and Chorus. He also returns to the Philharmonia Orchestra in London and the Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome. Further orchestral debuts take him to the Frankfurt Opera and Museumsorchester , to the Orchestre national du Capitole de Toulouse, to Orchestre national de Lyon He will conduct Sinfonia Varsovia, the Orchestra del Teatro La Fenice, and the Orchestra del Teatro di San Carlo. He will also make his debut at the Festival Radio France Montpellier and will again conduct the Orchestre national du Capitole de Toulouse, with whom he first collaborated earlier in the season.
